ATLANTIC CITY, NJ—FBI Special Agent In Charge Weysan Dun is once again asking for the help of the public in locating Jerell Mulkey of Atlantic City in connection with three bank robberies in each of three towns: Abescon, Lawrenceville, and Hammonton.

Mulkey is described as follows (photos attached):

Height:  5”8 – 5”10”
Weight: 200 lbs
Race:  Black
Sex: Male
Hair:  Black

The first robbery in question occurred on Friday, February 27, 2009 at approximately 6:26 p.m. at the PNC Bank, 728 White Horse Pike, Abescon, New Jersey. It was determined that a lone black male entered the bank, presented a demand note to the teller, and left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money. The robber threatened the use of a gun. The Abescon Police Department and FBI responded.

On Monday, April 6, 2009 at approximately 11:55 a.m., the PNC Bank located at 138 Franklin Corner Road, Lawrenceville, New Jersey was robbed. The circumstances of this robbery were very similar to the Abescon robbery: a lone black male entered the bank, presented the teller with a demand note, and threatened the use of a gun.

On Friday, April 10, 2009 at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Bank of America located at 209 Bellvue Avenue, Hammonton, New Jersey, was robbed in the same fashion.

Through their cooperative efforts in this investigation, the FBI, in conjunction with the Absecon, Lawrence Township, and Hammonton police departments have determined that Jerell Mulkey is the primary suspect in these three bank robberies. On April 16, 2009, Mulkey was officially charged with the federal crime of bank robbery and a warrant for his arrest was issued by Honorable Ann Marie Donio, United States Magistrate Judge in the District of New Jersey.  Mulkey is from the Atlantic City area, but may have ties to California. Citizens should not attempt to apprehend Mulkey themselves. Instead, anyone with information concerning his whereabouts should contact the FBI at 973-792-3000.

Bank security photos of the subject are attached to this release.
