Wagner Man Sentenced for Drug House Charge

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Wagner, South Dakota man convicted of maintaining a place where controlled substances were used or sold was sentenced on May 28, 2014, by the Honorable Karen E. Schreier, U.S. District Judge.

Jeffery Louis Irving, age 38, was sentenced to 87 months in prison to be followed by three years of supervised release.

Irving was indicted with four others for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, and with one other for maintaining a drug-involved premises by a federal grand jury on December 3, 2013. He pled guilty to the drug-involved premises charge on March 6, 2013, and the conspiracy count was dismissed.

Irving had allowed another man to stay at his house in Wagner and sell methamphetamine from it.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, and the Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office. Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer D. Mammenga prosecuted the case.

Irving was allowed to self report to the U.S. Marshals Service on June 30, 2014.
