Solen Man Pleads Guilty to Burglary and Assault on Federal Officer

BISMARCK—U.S. Attorney Timothy Q. Purdon announced that on May 8, 2012, Clifford See Walker, 21, of Solen, North Dakota, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to a charge of burglary and a charge of assaulting and resisting a federal officer.
On March 30, 2011, See Walker broke into a garage owned by the Catholic church in Fort Yates and took a vehicle, tools, and some money. In February 2012, when BIA officers tried to arrest See Walker for an unrelated matter, See Walker assaulted and resisted a federal officer by forcibly pulling away, attempting to physically strike, attempting to spit on, and threatening to kill a federal officer.
The charge of burglary carries a statutory maximum penalty of five years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine. The charge of assaulting and resisting a federal officer carries a statutory maximum penalty of eight years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs-Standing Rock Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Standing Rock Police Department.
Sentencing for See Walker has been scheduled for August 13, 2012 in U.S. District Court in Bismarck at 11:00 a.m.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Gary Delorme is prosecuting the case.
