U.S. Attorney’s Office November 28, 2012
  • District of South Dakota (605) 330-4400

US Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Wade Goodface, age 19, of Lower Brule, South Dakota, appeared before U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange on November 21, 2012, and pled guilty to the indictment that charged him with abusive sexual contact. The maximum penalty upon conviction is two years in custody, a $250,000 fine, or both.

The conviction stems from an incident in February 2012 when Goodface knowingly engaged in sexual contact with a minor.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Meghan N. Dilges.

A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for February 11, 2013. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending sentencing.
