Woman from Bull Head Sentenced for Stabbing a Man

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Bull Head, South Dakota, woman charged with involuntary manslaughter was sentenced on October 17, 2011, by U.S. District Judge Charles B. Kornmann. Lee Ann Brown, age 36, was sentenced to 40 months’ imprisonment, three years’ supervised release, a $100 victim assessment, and $3,000 in restitution.

Brown was indicted by a federal grand jury on October 13, 2010. In November 2008, she killed a man by stabbing him during an argument at a home they shared. Brown pled guilty to the offense on July 25, 2011.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Kelderman prosecuted the case.

Brown was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
