GRAND FORKS—United States Attorney Timothy Q. Purdon announced that on July 13, 2011, Levi Jerome of St. Michael, North Dakota, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Ralph R. Erickson on a charge of distribution of a controlled substance.

Jerome, 23, pleaded guilty on April 27, 2011, to selling .13 grams of methamphetamine on the Spirt Lake Indian Reservation.

Jerome was arrested under a warrant on February 18, 2011, and has been detained since that time. Judge Erickson sentenced Jerome to time served in custody, to be followed by three years of supervised release. Jerome was also ordered to pay a $100 special assessment to the Crime Victim’s Fund.

The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Janice M. Morley prosecuted the case.
