TCF Bank Branch Robbery in St. Anthony

FBI Minneapolis March 01, 2011
  • Chief Division Counsel Kyle A. Loven (763) 569-8540

On March 1, 2011, at approximately 7:07 p.m., the TCF Bank branch located at 3899 Silver Lake Road in St. Anthony, Minnesota, was robbed by a lone masked man. The robber came into the bank lobby and displayed a handgun while ordering employees in the bank to lie down on the floor. He confronted a teller and demanded all her money. The teller provided him with an undisclosed amount of money. The robber then ordered the teller to the floor and then fled the bank on foot. No vehicle was observed, and no one sustained any injuries.

The robber is described as an Asian male, about 5’7” tall, wearing all black clothing and a black mask. No bank surveillance camera photos are available at this time. The robber is believed to be the same robber who robbed the TCF branch in St. Paul the previous evening, as well as the TCF branch in West St. Paul on January 3, 2011.

Ralph S. Boelter, Special Agent in Charge of the Minneapolis Office of the FBI, requests that anyone with information regarding this bank robbery contact the Minneapolis FBI Office at 763/569-8000, the St. Anthony Police Department at 612/789-5015, or Crime Stoppers at 800/222-8477.
