Nebraska Man Sentenced on Drug Charges

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a North Platte, Nebraska, man charged with conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and distribution of a controlled substance was sentenced on November 23, 2010, by United States District Judge Roberto A. Lange. Raymond Saenz, age 40, was sentenced to 222 months in custody, five years of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment to the Victim Assistance Fund.

Saenz was indicted for conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance and distribution of a controlled substance by a federal grand jury on April 7, 2010. The charge relates to the conspiracy and distribution of a controlled substance on or about and between January 31, 2009, and April 7, 2010. Saenz pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute and distribution of a controlled substance on August 30, 2010.

This case was investigated by the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force. Special Assistant United States Attorney Ted L. McBride prosecuted the case.

Saenz was immediately turned over to the custody of the United States Marshal.
