Pine Ridge Man Sentenced on Drug Charge

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a man charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine was sentenced on January 11, 2010, by Chief U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier. Ferris White Bull, age 32, of Pine Ridge, was sentenced to 46 months' imprisonment, five years' supervised release, and ordered to pay $100 to the Victim Assistance Fund. White Bull was indicted for conspiracy to distribute cocaine by a federal grand jury on September 23, 2009, and pled guilty to the charge on October 5, 2009. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives; and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mara M. Kohn prosecuted the case. White Bull was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
