Oglala Man Sentenced 24 Months for Sexual Abuse

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a man charged with Sexual Abuse of a Minor was sentenced on December 14, 2009, by Chief U.S. District Judge Karen E. Schreier. William Warrior, age 20, of Oglala, was sentenced to 24 months' imprisonment, seven years' supervised release, and ordered to pay $100 to the Victim Assistance Fund. Warrior was indicted for Sexual Abuse of a Minor by a federal grand jury on July 21, 2009. He engaged in a sexual act with a child under the age of 12, but who had not attained the age of 16. Warrior pled guilty to the charge on September 21, 2009. This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mara M. Kohn prosecuted the case. Warrior was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
