Reedsburg Man Charged with Transporting Minor for Purposes of Prostitution

MADISON, WI—John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced today the unsealing of an indictment charging Alexander Kluball, 25, Reedsburg, Wis., with one count of transporting a minor across state lines to engage in prostitution. The indictment was returned yesterday by a grand jury sitting in Madison.

The indictment alleges that on July 24, 2015, Kluball transported an individual under 18 years of age from Tennessee to Wisconsin and intended that person to engage in prostitution in Wisconsin.

Kluball was arrested on the federal warrant in Reedsburg this morning by officers of the Reedsburg Police Department. He is scheduled to make an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Madison this afternoon.

If convicted, Kluball faces a mandatory minimum penalty of 10 years in federal prison and a maximum penalty of life.

The charge against Kluball is the result of an investigation by the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office; Federal Bureau of Investigation; Wisconsin Department of Justice, Division of Criminal Investigation; and the Madison and Fitchburg Police Departments. The prosecution of this case will be handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Julie Pfluger.

You are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
