Federal Grand Jury Returns Indictment

MADISON, WI—A federal grand jury in the Western District of Wisconsin, sitting in Madison, returned the following indictment today. You are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
Wisconsin Dells Man Charged with Making False Statements on Loan Application
Trever J. Stefan, 37, Wisconsin Dells, Wis., is charged with making false statements on documents submitted to a financial institution. The indictment alleges that Stefan made false statements in a business loan application submitted to Community Credit Union, La Crosse, Wis., on October 20, 2006.
If convicted, Stefan faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in federal prison. The charge against him is the result of an investigation by the La Crosse Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution of this case has been assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney Grant C. Johnson.
