The FBI announces the arrest today of John Fontus, 33, of Miami, Florida, on federal charges related to the robbery of a Wells Fargo Bank branch yesterday in Miami Shores, Florida.

Fontus was arrested by the Miami Shores Police Department and the FBI without incident earlier today in Miami, Florida. Information which helped lead to the arrest came from tips provided by the public.

Fontus’ initial appearance is expected to be tomorrow at the Federal Courthouse in Miami.

The FBI and Miami Shores Police Department continue their investigation. No further information will be released at this time.
