The FBI announces the arrest of Joseph Manuel Martinez, 48, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, for his alleged involvement in the robbery of the SunTrust Bank branch, 1601 S. Federal Hwy., Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, on June 4, 2014.

The arrest was made without incident early in the morning on June 5 in the vicinity of 4041 Federal Hwy, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, by the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department.

Martinez is in federal custody and is facing federal charges. It is anticipated that he will make his initial appearance Thursday, June 6, in federal court in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

A tip from the public and the commendable investigative efforts of the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department ultimately led to the arrest.

The Ft. Lauderdale Police Department, the FBI, and the South Florida Violent Crime Task Force continue their investigation.
