FBI Announces an Arrest Made in Connection with Four Miami-Area Bank Robberies

The FBI announces the arrest of Luis Ramirez Gonzalez, 27, of Miami, Florida, for his alleged involvement in four Miami-area bank robberies. 

The robberies are:

  1. The August 28 2014 robbery of a BB&T Bank branch at 2375 SW 122 Ave., Miami, Florida
  2. The September 25 robbery of a BB&T Bank branch at 869 SW 107 Ave., Miami, Florida
  3. The October 23, 2014 robbery of a Citibank branch at 7795 W. Flagler St., Miami, Florida
  4. The October 30, 2014 robbery of a BB&T Bank branch at 2375 SW 122 Ave., Miami, Florida

Following a tip from the public, the arrest was made without incident yesterday evening (November 20) by the Miami Dade Police Department in Miami, Florida.

Gonzalez is in federal custody and is facing federal charges. He will make his initial appearance at the Federal Courthouse in Miami, Florida.

The criminal complaint may be found on PACER later today.

Miami Dade PD, Miami Beach PD, Broward Sheriff’s Office, Pembroke Pines PD, Miramar PD, Doral PD, Seminole PD, the FBI, and the South Florida Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force continue their investigation.

No further information will be released at this time.
