Fugitive Returned to U.S. from Panama

The FBI announces the return to the United States of fugitive Ronald Ismael Khan, 40, after his detention and expulsion from Panama.

On March 23, 2008, Khan allegedly shot a victim in the stomach after a verbal confrontation in a residential neighborhood in Hollywood, Florida. That same day, the Hollywood Police Department arrested and charged Khan with aggravated battery with a firearm. On July 14, 2010, while on pre-trial release, a federal fugitive warrant was obtained based on information that Khan had fled the state of Florida.

He was detained in Panama on May 29, 2013, and was transported last night to Miami International Airport and, subsequently, to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to face state charges.

The FBI brought Khan back to the United States on an unlawful flight to avoid prosecution (UFAP) warrant.
