FBI Releases Further Information Regarding Armored Truck Robbery in Sunrise

The FBI is releasing further information regarding an armored truck robbery that took place today, January 17, 2013, at approximately 10:00 a.m. in the vicinity of the 7700 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard in Sunrise, Florida.

Two robbers approached an armored truck courier and demanded money. Shots were fired. It is believed that one of the robbers may be wounded. There were no other injuries. Money was taken, but the amount will not be released at this time.

A stolen white Honda Accord was used as the initial getaway vehicle that was later found abandoned nearby. A second vehicle, seen leaving the area of the abandoned getaway car and believed to be used by the robbers to leave the area, is a silver, four-door sedan resembling a 2001 Lexus E300. This car was further described as having a rear spoiler and a dent near the trunk keyhole.

The bank robbers description can be found on a video released at the scene. A copy of this video is available during normal business hours at the FBI’s Miami Field Office located at 16320 NW 2nd Avenue in North Miami Beach, Florida. News media interested in obtaining a copy of this video must bring a USB compatible computer to download the video from a thumb/flash drive.

Brinks is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the subject(s). This reward offer expires on January 27, 2013.
