FBI Miami November 15, 2012
  • Special Agent Michael D. Leverock (754) 703-2000

The FBI announces the arrest of Carlos Jenkins, 24, Opa Locka, Florida; Gregory Richardson, 34, Opa Locka, Florida; Quinton Johnson, 29, Miami, Florida; and Edward Rogers, 40, Miami Gardens, Florida, for their alleged involvement in an armed bank robbery Wednesday (November 14, 2012) of a SunTrust Bank branch in Coral Springs, Florida.

The following law enforcement agencies were involved in the pursuit and arrest of these suspects: Coral Springs Police Department (PD), Miami Dade PD, Hialeah PD, Miramar PD, Miami Gardens PD, Opa Locka PD, and Broward Sheriff’s Office. The suspects were subsequently turned over to the FBI.

The arrests were made around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday after the suspects were pursued by police starting in Coral Springs, Florida, southbound on Interstate 75 to the vicinity of the Gratigny Parkway when their vehicle was involved in an accident and came to a stop. After a short foot pursuit, three suspects (Jenkins, Richardson, and Rogers) were taken into custody.

Quinton Johnson was later taken into custody without incident.

Jenkins, Richardson, Johnson, and Rogers are in federal custody and facing pending federal charges. It is anticipated that their initial appearance will be Thursday (November 15, 2012) in federal court in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The FBI is looking into whether these individuals may be involved in other South Florida bank robberies.

The Coral Springs PD, the FBI’s South Florida Violent Crime Task Force, and the FBI continue their investigation.

No further information will be released at this time.
