FBI and BSO Release 911 Calls in Deerfield Bank Robbery Shooting

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) are releasing four 911 calls from the bank robbery that occurred yesterday at the Amtrust Bank, 3600 West Hillsboro Boulevard, Deerfield Beach, Florida. The bank robber, dubbed the Brazen Bandit, walked into the bank at around 3:30 p.m. jumped the teller counter and took money from multiple teller drawers, putting it in a black backpack. As the robber was jumping back over the counter, with a small handgun in his hand, he shot a 67-year-old male customer. He then left the bank, shot a couple of rounds outside the bank, and was seen fleeing in a brown pick-up truck. The shooting victim was transported by Deerfield Beach Fire Rescue to North Broward Medical Center. He remains in critical but stable condition. The Brazen Bandit is described as follows:

  • Race: White
  • Sex: Male
  • Age: About 35- 40 years old
  • Height: About 5’ 8”
  • Build: Athletic
  • Hair: Shaved Head
  • Clothing: Black baseball cap, black shirt, blue jeans
  • Other: Wearing a bandana around his face, sunglasses, and white latex gloves

Pictures from the robbery are also being released.

This bank robber is considered armed and dangerous. If anyone has information as to the identity of the Brazen Bandit, they are urged to call the FBI at (305) 944-9101.
