Clarksville Police Detective Indicted for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle

U.S. Attorney’s Office September 17, 2009
  • Middle District of Tennessee (615) 736-5151

NASHVILLE, TN—Edward M. Yarbrough, U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee, announced that Martin Edward Hall, Jr. of Clarksville, Tennessee, was indicted yesterday on one count of possession of a stolen motor vehicle.

The indictment alleges that between on or about the 23rd day of April, 2007 and on or about the 11th day of August, 2009, Hall knowingly possessed and stored a stolen motor vehicle, that is, a black, 2002 Cadillac Escalade, which vehicle had crossed a State boundary after being stolen.

The public is reminded that an indictment contains only charges and need not be supported by proof of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. The defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the United States has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

This case is being investigated by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The United States is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorney Byron Jones.
