Safe Streets Task Force Seeking Information on Bank Robber

On July 27, 2009, at approximately 3:54 p.m., a lone male entered the First South Credit Union, located at 1941 Madison Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee and waited in line behind a customer. The white male suspect approached the bank teller, produced a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from two tellers. After receiving the money from the bank tellers, the suspect fled on foot southbound on Tucker Street from the bank.

The suspect is described as a white male, 36-38 years of age, light brown hair and with a goat tee. The suspect wore a baseball cap with the number 88, a light tee shirt and was armed with a semi-auto pistol.

The Safe Streets Task Force is seeking information on the suspect depicted in photos captured by the credit union’s surveillance system.

This robbery is being investigated by the Safe Streets Task Force. The Task Force is comprised of members of the Memphis Police Department, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Germantown Police Department, Bartlett Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
