Crestview Hills Man Sentenced for Receiving Child Pornography

U.S. Attorney’s Office January 13, 2010
  • Eastern District of Kentucky (859) 233-2661

COVINGTON, KY—Kenneth Lester Mullikin, 58, of Crestview Hills, Ky. was sentenced today to 97 months in prison for receiving child pornography.

United States District Judge Danny C. Reeves handed down the punishment at the federal courthouse in Covington, Ky. and also ordered that Mullikin remain under the supervision of the United States Probation office for the rest of his life.

In June 2009, Mullikin, who was the former chairman of the Campbell County Democratic Party, pleaded guilty to the charges and admitted that he engaged in sexually explicit chats with people online who sent him images of child pornography.

In his plea agreement, Mullikin agreed that he was responsible for more than 8,000 still images and some of the images depicted children under the age of 12 being subjected to sadistic and violent behavior.

Under federal law, Mullikin must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence. Mullikin will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

James A. Zerhusen, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, Michael G. Daly, Chief of the Fort Thomas Police Department, and Timothy D. Cox, Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, jointly made the announcement today after the sentencing.

The investigation was conducted by the Fort Thomas Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The United States was represented in the case by the Fort Mitchell Branch Office of the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
