COVINGTON, KY—Scott Felgar, 24, of Covington, Ky. was sentenced today to 120 months in prison by United States District Court Judge Danny Reeves for drug trafficking.

In the course of his guilty plea in May of 2009, Felgar admitted that he possessed more than 21 grams of crack cocaine and a small amount of powder cocaine at his residence on Pearl Street in Covington, Ky. He admitted that he intended to distribute these substances. Felgar had a prior felony drug conviction in 2004 in Kenton County.

Felgar was indicted on Febraury of 2009.

Under federal law, Felgar will have to serve at least 85 percent of his prison sentence before his release. He will also be subject to eight years of supervised release after the completion of his prison sentence.

“The Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force should be congratulated for taking another drug trafficker off of the streets,” said Assistant United States Attorney Anthony Bracke. “Anyone thinking of selling drugs in our community needs to understand that they will wind up serving a lengthy prison sentence.”

James A. Zerhusen, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky, and Timothy D. Cox, Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation, jointly made the announcement today after Felgar was sentenced.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of investigation and the Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force. The United States was represented by Assistant United States Attorney Anthony J. Bracke.
