Fugitive Wanted in Los Angeles Arrested in Las Vegas

A fugitive wanted for a variety of crimes in Los Angeles was arrested in Las Vegas Wednesday night following a fugitive investigation by Fugitive Task Forces in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Dontai Everidge, 27, of Lancaster, California, was on parole for assault with a firearm when he became the subject of an investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department. Everidge, a known-pimp, allegedly escaped during a prostitution sting in the city of Van Nuys earlier this year after assaulting a police officer while unsuccessfully attempting to grab the officer’s firearm.
Everidge was charged by the District Attorney in Los Angeles County with two counts of assault on a police officer with a deadly weapon, one count of robbery, and one count of felony resisting arrest.
The fugitive investigation was conducted by the Los Angeles Fugitive Task Force, which is composed of agents and officers with the FBI; the Los Angeles Police Department; and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR)-California Parolee Apprehension Team (CPAT). The arrest was made by the FBI’s Fugitive Task Force in Las Vegas, which is composed of agents and officers with the FBI, Henderson Police Department, and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department
Everidge will be extradited to Los Angeles by task force detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department to face prosecution.
