FBI Public Service Announcements Now Online

FBI Los Angeles July 09, 2013
  • Public Affairs Specialist Laura Eimiller (310) 996-3343

The FBI released six public service announcements this morning, which are now available online at the FBI’s site, where the clips can be downloaded individually: http://www.fbi.gov/losangeles/news-and-outreach/public-service-announcements.

Five of the PSAs address various dangers/crimes associated with the theft of intellectual property, and the sixth PSA addresses cyber bullying.

Assistant Director in Charge, Bill L. Lewis, said, “The theft of intellectual property victimizes all of us, and through educational PSAs, we can make an impact in reducing these crimes that plague Southern California, from counterfeit pharmaceuticals, auto and aircraft parts; to music and movie piracy; to the theft of trade secrets, which costs American businesses billions and compromises the economy and national security. Further, these crimes can affect our health and safety, fund international organized crime, contribute to slave labor, and hinder creative expression in the field of arts and entertainment. Cyber bullying is another area where education is key to understanding that such activity has real victims and serious consequences, and this PSA will bring needed attention to the problem.”
