The FBI and Ventura County Sheriff’s Department detectives are seeking the public’s assistance for information leading to the identity of the “20 Questions Bandits," the moniker for at least four armed men believed to be responsible for committing two armed takeover bank robberies in Thousand Oaks, California, this year.

The most recent robbery took place at Bank of America’s Oak Brook Branch, earlier this week on July 29th, 2009. Witnesses described four black males armed with guns, who forced the employees and customers in the bank to comply with their demands while they robbed the bank, and in some cases, victims of their personal belongings.

Wednesday’s robbery has been linked to a similar robbery that occurred in March of this year at a U.S. Bank in Thousand Oaks. During each of the robberies, the suspects asked several questions during the robberies, according to witnesses, and are known to law enforcement as the "20 Questions Bandits."

Bank surveillance photographs are being distributed to the media.

Bank of America’s is offering a $10k reward towards the apprehension and conviction of those responsible for robbing the Banking Center in Thousand Oaks (Oak Brook Branch) on July 29, 2009.

This investigation is being conducted jointly by the Ventura County Sheriff's Department and the FBI. Anyone with info can call either agency or 911. The FBI may be reached 24 hours a day at 888 CANT HIDE (888 226-8443). The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department can be reached at 800 222-TIPS (8477).
