Fugitive in Shooting Identified as Javier Soloman Reyes

The fugitive involved in a shooting with an FBI agent has been identified as Javier Solomon Reyes, age 32. Reyes had no current Las Vegas address at the time of the incident.

The Criminal Apprehension Teams (CATS) Task Force, consisting of the FBI Las Vegas Division, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, and Henderson Police Department, was executing an arrest warrant on fugitive Javier Solomon Reyes that led to a foot pursuit. The fugitive was being arrested for robbery with a deadly weapon and was a suspect in multiple carjacking incidents.

Gunfire was exchanged between Reyes and an FBI agent.

The FBI agent, who was wearing a protective vest, was hit and sustained non-life threatening injuries. The FBI agent has since been treated and released from University Medical Center (UMC).

Javier Solomon Reyes was also hit and transported to UMC. Reyes later died from the injuries he sustained.

From January 2013 to date, the Criminal Apprehension Teams (CATS) Task Force has successfully made 61 arrests to include 11 homicide subjects. In 2012, the CATS Task Force successfully made 413 arrests, to include 43 homicide subjects.
