FBI Seeks Suspect Who Robbed the Y-12 Federal Credit Union Today

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Chief David Rausch of the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed a Y-12 Federal Credit Union today.

At approximately 4:49 p.m., the suspect entered the Y-12 Federal Credit Union located at 6640 Clinton Highway in Knoxville, Tennessee, and passed a teller a bank robbery demand note. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, mid-40s to early-50s, approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall, with a stocky build, with facial hair. The suspect was wearing glasses, an orange baseball style hat with a power “T” on the front, a red zip-up hooded sweatshirt, and khaki pants. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect fled the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Knoxville FBI at 865-544-0751 or the KPD at 865-215-7212. A reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of this individual.

This matter is being investigated jointly by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force (SSTF), composed of the FBI, KPD (Knoxville Police Department), and KCSO (Knox County Sheriff’s Office), and the KPD Violent Crimes Unit.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
