Armed Bank Robbery at SunTrust Bank Branch

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed a SunTrust Bank on August 18, 2015.

On August 18, 2015 at approximately 4:25 p.m., law enforcement agencies responded to an armed bank robbery at the SunTrust Bank branch at 700 Merchant Drive, Knoxville, Tennessee.

Reports indicate that a masked man entered the SunTrust Bank, brandished a handgun, and demanded money from the bank employees. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect fled the scene. The suspect is described as follows:

  • White
  • Male
  • Approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall
  • Medium build
  • Dark mask
  • Dark ball cap
  • Dark short-sleeved shirt
  • Khaki pants
  • Dark shoes
  • Dark gloves
