Knoxville Resident Sentenced to 100 Months in Prison for Possession of Child Pornography

KNOXVILLE, TN—On March 26, 2014, James Dale Parker, Jr., 41, of Knoxville, Tennessee, was sentenced to serve 100 months in prison for possession of child pornography. Upon his release from prison, he will be subject to 15 years of supervised release.

Parker pleaded guilty in August 2013 to possession of child pornography. Through the execution of a search warrant by agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, 92 images and 265 videos of child pornography were found on a personal computer belonging to Parker.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
