Robbery of Oak Ridge National Lab Federal Credit Union

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Chief David Rausch of the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed the Oak Ridge National Lab (ORNL) Federal Credit Union today.
At approximately 6:00 p.m., the suspect entered the ORNL Federal Credit Union located at 6702 Clinton Highway, Knoxville, Tennessee, threatened that he had a weapon, displayed a note, and demanded money. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, 35-40 years old, approximately 6’1” to 6’2” tall, weighing approximately 220 to 230 pounds with a large build, and having a brown beard. The suspect was wearing light colored blue jeans, a red tee shirt, sunglasses, and an orange, baseball-style hat with a white “T” on the front. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect fled the scene in a black, full-sized Chevrolet pickup truck.
A reward is being offered for any information that leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to please call the Knoxville FBI at 865-544-0751 or KPD at 865-215-7212. This matter is being jointly investigated by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force (composed of personnel from the FBI, KPD, and KCSO) and the KPD Major Crimes Unit.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
