Searching for the Suspect Who Robbed a BB&T Bank Branch in Knoxville

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect who robbed a BB&T Bank on April 5, 2012.

At approximately 4:50 p.m., the suspect entered the BB&T Bank branch located at 7108 Maynardville Pike in Knoxville, Tennessee, brandished a weapon, and demanded money. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male between 60 and 70 years of age, approximately 6’1” to 6’4” tall, and weighing approximately 175 to 185 pounds. The suspect was further described as wearing a black mask; black pants; a blue, zip-up raincoat with a hood; and black shoes. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect fled the scene.

A reward is being offered for information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 865-544-0751 or the KCSO at 865-215-2243. This matter is being jointly investigated by the Safe Streets Task Force (comprised of the FBI, KPD, and KSCO) and the KCSO Major Crimes Unit.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
