Searching for Man Suspected of Robbing First Volunteer Bank Branch in Jellico

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Chief Chris Anderson of the Jellico Police Department (JPD), and Sheriff Robbie Goins of the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed the First Volunteer Bank today.

At approximately 10:50 a.m., the suspect entered the First Volunteer Bank located at 189 Fifth Street in Jellico, Tennessee, presented a note, and demanded money. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male in his twenties, approximately 5’6” tall, with a stocky build. The suspect was wearing a white t-shirt, khaki shorts, flip flops, and a shaggy, reddish-brown wig. He was also wearing sunglasses and carrying a turquoise colored, cloth diaper bag.

After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect fled the scene on foot. A reward is being offered for any information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to please call the Knoxville FBI at 865-544-0751 or the JPD at 423-784-6123. This matter is being investigated jointly by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force (which consists of personel from the FBI, KPD, and KCSO), the JPD, and the CCSO.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
