Man Suspected of Robbing Alcoa Federal Credit Union in Vonore Arrested

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Chief Randy Kirkland of the Vonore Police Department (VPD), and Sheriff Tim Guider of the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) announce the arrest of William Shane Bright. At approximately 6:45 p.m. this evening, Bright, age 40, of Loudon, Tennessee, was arrested, without incident, by the FBI, VPD and LCSO. Bright is facing federal charges for bank robbery. He is suspected of robbing the Alcoa Federal Credit Union located at 160 Deer Crossing in Vonore, Tennessee. This matter was a joint investigation by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force (which consists of personnel from the FBI, KPD, and KCSO), VPD, and LCSO.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
