At approximately 11:30 last night, Charles Eugene Hurst, Jr., age 45, of Knoxville, Tennessee, was arrested on state bank robbery charges. Hurst, who was arrested without incident by members of the Knoxville Police Department, was identified as a result of information received from concerned citizens who had seen the photographs publicized shortly after the robbery occurred.

Hurst is suspected of robbing the SunTrust Bank located at 2915 Tazwell Pike in Knoxville on August 30, 2010. Hurst’s arrest was the result of a joint investigation between the Knoxville Police Department and the FBI, KPD, and KCSO, as part of the FBI’s Safe Streets Task Force.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
