  • Public Affairs Specialist Joyce McCants (865) 544-0751

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed the Tennessee Credit Union today.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., the suspect entered the Tennessee Credit Union located at 10431 Kingston Pike in Knoxville, displayed a weapon, and demanded money. Witnesses described the suspect as a clean-shaven black male with a medium complexion, mid to late 20s, between 5’4” and 5’7” tall, approximately 130 to 140 pounds with a slender build. The suspect was further described as having black, fully-braided, shoulder-length hair and was wearing a light-colored, three-quarter-length sleeve shirt and green cargo or fatigue-style pants.

After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect bound three bank employees inside the bank and left the scene in one of the employees’ vehicles, which was recovered a short time later. A reward is being offered for any information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 865-544-0751 or the KCSO at 865-215-2243. This matter is being investigated jointly by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force (which consists of personnel from the FBI, KPD, and KCSO) and the KCSO Major Crimes Unit.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
