Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution (UFAP) Warrant Issued for Attempted Double Homicide Suspect Marvin Lee Matthews

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Safe Street Task Force, and Sheriff Jimmy “J.J.” Jones of the Knox County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO), are searching for Marvin Lee Matthews, the individual who is suspected of an attempted double homicide which occurred in Knox County on 07/12/2009. 

On 07/12/2009, a Federal Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution (UFAP) warrant was obtained in the Eastern District of Tennessee for Marvin Lee Matthews, age 32, of Knoxville, Tennessee.  Matthews is suspected of shooting his ex-wife, Tiffanie Matthews, and her boyfriend, Sherman Hawkins, early Sunday morning.  Matthews may be driving a 1999 Ford Explorer SUV, gold in color, with Tennessee Tag 749RXS.

A reward is being offered for any information which may lead to Matthews’ arrest.  Matthews is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information should contact the Knoxville FBI at 865-544-0751 or the KCSO 865-215-2243.
