FBI, KPD, and KCSO, as Part of the Safe Streets Task Force, are Searching for Man Who Robbed a Suntrust Bank Today

The Knoxville Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Chief Sterling Owen IV of the Knoxville Police Department (KPD) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the man who robbed a Knoxville bank today.

At approximately 9:49 this morning, a man, entered the Suntrust Bank located inside the Kroger grocery store at 9305 Kingston Pike in Knoxville and threatened to have a weapon. Witnesses described the suspect as a white male, approximately 25 to 30 years of age, between 5’11” and 6’ tall, weighing approximately 165 to 175 pounds. The suspect was wearing blue jeans, a black shirt, and a baseball hat with camouflage netting underneath. After obtaining an undetermined amount of money, the suspect left the scene on foot. Witnesses also reported that the suspect entered a 1990s, green, four-door, Honda Accord  with Tennessee license plates.
 
A reward is being offered for any information which leads to the arrest of this individual. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 865-544-0751 or the KPD at 865-215-7212. This matter is being investigated jointly by the FBI SSTF and KPD Major Crimes Unit.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
