Montgomery County Man Appears in Court on Child Pornography Charge

WICHITA, KS—A Montgomery County man appeared in federal court here today on a child pornography charge, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said.

Daniel Hosier, 34, Cherryvale, Kansas, is charged with one count of distributing child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography. The crimes are alleged to have occurred in March and July 2013 in Montgomery, Kansas.

If convicted, he faces a penalty of not less than five years and not more than 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000 on the distribution counts and a maximum penalty of 10 years and a fine up to $250,000 on the possession count. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason Hart is prosecuting.
