Topeka Man Sentenced for Bank Robbery

TOPEKA, KS—A Topeka man has been sentenced to 78 months for bank robbery, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.

Robert Eugene Gibson, 27, Topeka, Kansas, pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery. Gibson admitted that on February 22, 2013, he robbed the Lyndon State Bank at 1535 S.W. Fairlawn Road in Topeka. Officers of the Topeka Police Department arrested Gibson at a gas station eight blocks from the bank shortly after the robbery.

Grissom commended the Topeka Police Department, the FBI, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jared Maag for their work on the case.
