Topeka Woman Pleads Guilty in Bank Robbery

TOPEKA, KS—A Topeka woman has pleaded guilty to bank robbery, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said today.
Tracie Bacon, 22, Topeka, Kan., pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery. In her plea, she admitted that on Aug. 9, 2011, she helped co-defendant Vershon Moore rob the Envista Credit Union at 2015 Southwest 10th Street in Topeka.
Bacon was an employee of the bank. She admitted she told Moore details about the operation of the bank and when bank employees were going to fill the ATM.
Moore pleaded guilty in August to the bank robbery. In his plea he admitted he held up two bank employees when they stepped outside the bank carrying cash to refill the ATM.
Bacon is set for sentencing Feb. 6. Moore is set for sentencing Dec. 12.
Grissom commended the Topeka Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Assistant U.S. Attorney Jared Maag for their work on the case.
