FBI Jacksonville April 08, 2014 |
Jacksonville community leaders came together to begin National Crime Victims’ Rights Week Monday, April 7, during a press conference at Jacksonville City Hall. Ann Dugger, director of the Justice Coalition, headed the program with addresses from Mayor Alvin Brown and State Attorney Angela Corey, as well as Ron Davis, father of murdered Jacksonville teen Jordan Davis.
“We have to do things in life that are positive because negative behavior will not work,” Davis said, “It just tears the community apart.”
A week of observance continues with a resource fair and luncheon 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Jacksonville Main Library and a candlelight vigil at 6 p.m. on April 10 at Friendship Fountain. For more information, call 1-904-630-7103.
