The FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force arrested a Rankin County man on three federal child pornography charges on Monday.

James Glenn Dukes, 63, of Brandon was taken into custody without incident at his residence in Brandon.

Earlier this month, a federal grand jury, empanelled in the Southern District of Mississippi, returned a three count indictment charging Dukes with violating 18 USC 2252(a)(2), 2252(a)(4)(B): possession, receipt, and distribution of child pornography.

According to the indictment, on or about April 2013, Dukes did knowingly receive images of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct. In October 2013, Dukes knowingly distributed, in interstate commerce, such images, and, in February 2015, investigators discovered similar images on his computer.

FBI agents transported Dukes to Jackson for his initial appearance in U.S. District Court. If convicted, he faces a sentence of up to 40 years in prison.

Dukes was remanded to federal custody pending the outcome of this case.

Assistant United States Attorney Glenda Haynes is leading the prosecution for the United States Attorney. The FBI Jackson Division’s Child Exploitation Task Force spearheaded the investigation.

The task force is comprised of agents from the FBI and the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office and prosecutors from the United States Attorney’s Office in Jackson. The FBI is enhancing its efforts to protect children from sexual exploitation and abuse by partnering the task force elements of the Innocence Lost and Innocent Images national initiatives in one Child Exploitation Task Force (CETF).

Their goal is to provide a rapid and effective investigative response to reported federal crimes involving the victimization of children. The task forces strive to reduce the vulnerability of children to acts of sexual exploitation and abuse and strengthen the capabilities of federal, state, and local law enforcement through training programs and investigative assistance.
