Former Prison Nurse Sentenced for Smuggling Contraband Into FCI Yazoo

JACKSON, MI—Lavonne Boose, 43, of Benton, a former nurse at the Federal Correctional Institution in Yazoo City, MS, was sentenced today by U.S. Magistrate Judge Linda R. Anderson to 60 days in federal prison followed by one year of supervised release for smuggling a cell phone into the prison, U.S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis announced. Boose was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Lemon.
