FBI Offers Reward; Public Responds
FBI Jackson August 19, 2009 |
Within hours following the issuance of a press release announcing a reward for the identification of two individuals responsible for identity theft and credit card fraud, the FBI had received numerous credible leads from the public. The FBI is following up on those leads and proceeding with its investigation into this matter. No further information is being solicited at this time.
Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in Mississippi, Frederick T. Brink, stated, “We want to thank our partners in the media who provided invaluable assistance in publicizing our need for assistance from the public. Working together, law enforcement officers and members of the press make a formidable team. We also thank the callers who provided information to assist us in locating the individuals in question. As members of the general public, you are still one of the most valuable resources law enforcement has in fighting crime.”
The reward will be distributed as soon as the FBI’s investigation is complete.
