HAMMOND—United States Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana, David Capp, announced that Samuel L. Bradbury, 23, of Pine Village, Indiana, was found guilty, late July 2, 2015, after a weeklong jury trial, of maliciously conveying false information.

According to the evidence presented at trial, on June 19, 2014, Bradbury willfully posted threats on social media to kill two specific law enforcement officials and two specific judges in Tippecanoe County. He also threatened to damage the Tippecanoe County Courthouse along with police vehicles using thermite, an incendiary device. On June 21, 2015, law enforcement executed search warrants on the house where Bradbury lived, locating the social media posting along with other relevant evidence to include materials to make thermite.

Sentencing for Bradbury will be scheduled at a later date by a separate court order. Any specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the judge after a consideration of the federal sentencing statutes and federal sentencing guidelines.
