SOUTH BEND, IN—The United States Attorney’s Office announced the following activity in federal court:

Plea:

Michael A Volpe, 44, of Staten Island, New York, pled guilty before Magistrate Judge Christopher Nuechterlein to the felony offense of wire fraud and money laundering. Magistrate Nuechterlein is recommending that the district court accept the tendered guilty plea. Parties have 10 days in which to object to the magistrate judge’s recommendation. This charge was filed as a result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Indiana State Police. Sentencing is set for August 15, 2013, 10:00 a.m. in U.S. District Court-South Bend before Judge Jon E DeGuilio. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Donald Schmid.
