Catherine Danyluk Receives 2012 Director’s Community Leadership Award

Robert A. Jones, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Indianapolis Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), presented the 2012 Director’s Community Leadership Award to Catherine Danyluk. A national ceremony will take place at FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. this Friday, April 5, 2013. Director Robert S. Mueller, III will personally present the Director’s Community Leadership Award to Ms. Danyluk and 57 other recipients from across the country.

Since 1990, the FBI has recognized individuals and organizations whose achievements in the terrorism, crime, drug, gang, or violence prevention/education field had an exemplary impact on the community. Each year, the SAC of each FBI field office selects an individual or organization that has made a major contribution in furthering the mission of the FBI.

Ms. Danyluk has been a consultant with the Indiana Department of Education for 28 years and serves as the chief state attendance officer, as well as the state juvenile justice specialist. She is certified in School Safety Leadership by the National School Safety Center and is a member of the International Association of School Safety Professionals.

Ms. Danyluk has presented at several national conferences to address the issue of school violence prevention. She works on multiple collaborative initiatives with law enforcement (state and federal) on prevention and enforcement programs for juveniles. She serves on the Indiana Juvenile Detention Alternative Inititative Steering Committee and is the Indiana Department of Education representative to the Marion County Leadership in Action team.

The FBI is recognizing Ms. Danyluk for her significant involvement with programs that successfully educate citizens about and aid in the prevention of criminal acts. She demonstrates superb leadership within the community’s school system in support of youth and educational programs.
