Indianapolis Man Charged with Being Felon in Possession of a Firearm

Timothy M. Morrison, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana, announced that ERNEST R. SNOW, 44, Indianapolis, Indiana, was indicted by a federal grand jury sitting in Indianapolis for unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, following an investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The indictment alleges that on January 16, 2009, SNOW knowingly possessed a Glock, Model 19, 9 millimeter handgun that had previously moved in interstate commerce. According to the Indictment, SNOW has been previously convicted in a court with the following felonies:
1984 conviction for Resisting Law Enforcement;
1999 conviction for Burglary, a Class C Felony, and a
2008 conviction for Breaking and Entering.
According to Assistant U. S. Attorney James M. Warden, who is prosecuting the case for the government, SNOW faces a minimum possible prison sentence of 15 years and a maximum possible fine of $250,000. An initial hearing will be scheduled before a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The indictment is an allegation only, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at trial or by guilty plea.
