Seeking Victim Information in Jet-Coin, EmpowerCoin, ECoinPlus, and Omega Digital Schemes
The FBI’s New York Division is seeking to identify potential victims of a series of web-based virtual currency schemes called Jet-Coin, EmpowerCoin, ECoinPlus, and Omega Digital.
Dwayne Golden, Gregory Aggesen, and Marquis Demacking Egerton, the owners and operators of the scams, were arrested by the FBI in March 2022 and charged with stealing over $40 million in investor funds.
On September 16, 2024, Golden pled guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering. As part of his plea, he consented to forfeit $2.46 million toward restitution.
On November 15, 2023, Aggesen pled guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering through promotion and conspiracy to obstruct justice.
On July 13, 2023, Egerton pled guilty to conspiracy to commit wire fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering with concealment.
If you believe you were potentially victimized by these schemes (Jet-Coin, EmpowerCoin, ECoinPlus, or Omega Digital) or have information relevant to this investigation, please fill out this questionnaire.
If you know of someone else who has possibly been victimized by these schemes, please encourage them to complete the form themself.
The FBI is legally mandated to identify victims of federal crimes it investigates. Victims may be eligible for certain services, restitution, and rights under federal and/or state law. Your responses are voluntary but may be useful in the federal investigation and to identify you as a potential victim.
